Artist and combat veteran

Artist Statement
As a combat veteran it is a challenge to hold onto healthy and safe coping methods. Mixed media art for me has been just that. I put my hands to work and allow my mind to be creative and vent my emotions. The inturnal fight for good and bad, Light and dark. Words are not wanted and not needed to be shared...there is much less understanding. It is better for me to express my internal stuggles with art. This allows the viewer to get a look inside. You can find dark art and light artwork. My need to find balance. Art can be more powerful then any conversation. It can create conversation and emotions, that is my goal. The war inside never ends. As I like to say, "My demons go to art therupy." I will end with, "I am the light in my own darkness."
